According to former NMB48 member Yamamoto Sayaka at the time of its release, “Kamonegix” is a coined term created by Akimoto Yasushi. The title originates from the Japanese idiom 鴨が葱を背負ってくる (kamo ga negi o shotte kuru) which literally means a duck comes carrying a leek on its back. This idiom refers to a situation where an easy or gullible target unknowingly brings about a perfect opportunity for someone else. In the context of this song, Kamonegix represents a girl who, despite knowing that falling in love may hurt her, still opens her heart and walks straight into love. In JKT48’s version, the idiom is translated by its intended meaning rather than literally.
